Business BuddyTerms of Service

- Free for 30 days, then a subscription. Cancel any time in your App Store settings.
- Your data is yours. We won't sell it, and you can take it with you.
- Business Buddy helps you send invoices — it does not collect the money for you. Online card payments go through Stripe, between you and your client.
- We're not your accountant or your lawyer. Check your own numbers before you send them.
- Don't use it to break the law or abuse anyone. We can close accounts that do.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Business Buddy, you agree to these terms. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you're confirming you're allowed to bind that company. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 16 and give accurate details. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including anything your team does with the logins you issue them. Tell us promptly at support@usebusinessbuddy.com if you think someone else has access.
If you invite teammates, you're responsible for what access you give them and for removing it when they leave.
3. Free trial and subscriptions
Every new company gets a 30-day free trial. It starts when you create your company and needs no card. When it ends, the app locks to read-only until you subscribe — your data is not deleted, it's waiting for you.
How billing works
- Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store, monthly or yearly. Apple bills you, not us.
- It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel in your device Settings → your name → Subscriptions. We can't cancel it for you — only Apple can.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy. We may change them, but not for a period you've already paid for, and we'll tell you first.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. We can ask on your behalf; we can't grant one ourselves.
4. Your data belongs to you
Everything you put into Business Buddy — your jobs, clients, photos, invoices — stays yours. We don't claim ownership.
You give us permission to store, process, and display it strictly to run the service for you: to show it to your team, put it on the invoices you send, back it up, and support you when you ask.
You can export your data at any time, and you can delete your account from inside the app. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to it then.
5. What you agree not to do
- Break the law, or help anyone else to.
- Upload other people's information you have no right to hold.
- Send invoices, quotes, or messages that are fraudulent, or that a recipient hasn't agreed to receive.
- Try to break into, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, or get at another company's data.
- Resell or white-label Business Buddy without a written agreement with us.
- Upload malware, or content that is illegal, harassing, or hateful.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we reasonably can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.
6. Payments between you and your clients
This is worth being precise about. Business Buddy lets you create an invoice and offer your client a link to pay it online. That payment is processed by Stripe, and the money goes from your client to your Stripe account.
We are not a party to that transaction. We do not hold your money, and we are not a payment processor, bank, or escrow service. Stripe's own terms and fees apply, and disputes, chargebacks, and refunds with your client are between you, your client, and Stripe.
7. Third-party services
Business Buddy connects to services we don't control — Apple, Stripe, Google, Intuit QuickBooks, Twilio, and others listed in our Privacy Policy. If one of them changes, breaks, or goes away, parts of Business Buddy may stop working. We'll do what we reasonably can, but we can't promise their behaviour.
The QuickBooks connection writes to your accounting records. Review what it syncs before you rely on it, and keep your own backups of your books.
8. What we don't promise
We work hard to keep Business Buddy running and correct, but we provide it "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will suit any particular purpose.
Specifically, and this matters in a tool full of numbers:
- Business Buddy is not accounting, tax, legal, or payroll advice. Totals, margins, job costs, overtime, and tax figures are calculations from what you entered. Check them before you rely on them, and use a professional for advice.
- Location features depend on your device's GPS, which can be wrong, blocked indoors, or unavailable. A location reading is not proof of where someone was. Treat it as one piece of information, not a verdict, and especially so before acting on it in an employment matter.
- Weather, address lookup, and AI answers come from outside sources and may be wrong or out of date.
- The Buddy AI assistant can be wrong. It's a helper, not an authority. Verify anything that matters.
9. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — lost profit, lost business, lost data, or work you didn't win.
Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Some places don't allow these limits. Where that's true, they don't apply to you, and nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
10. Ending it
You can stop at any time: cancel your subscription with Apple and delete your account in the app.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your subscription lapses, or if we stop offering the service. If we discontinue Business Buddy, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice so you can export everything.
Sections 4 (your data), 6 (payments), 8 (no promises), 9 (liability), and 11 (law) survive the end of this agreement.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we both agree to that. If you're a consumer somewhere with different mandatory rules, those rules still protect you.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for anything material, notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Business Buddy after that means you accept the new version.
